Cuttin It Up In The Kitchen w/ Dj Prestige

Here’s a great recipe from the turntable maestro himself, Dj Prestige. Enjoy!

Ma Dukes’ French Toast

1 loaf of Challah Bread

2 Eggs

¼ cup milk

2 teaspoons sugar

Teaspoon of vanilla extract

Liberal shake of cinnamon

Squirt of maple syrup

2 tablespoons of salted butter

Shake of confectioner’s sugar

Cut the Challah bread into thicker slices and set aside.  In a large mixing bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla extract together.  Make sure everything is mixed together thoroughly.  The trick is to have more egg than milk in the mixture, to get that eggy coating, so if you need to make more, make sure you follow that rule.  While you are mixing, heat a large frying pan or skillet over medium high heat and melt the butter in it.

Dunk the slices of bread into the mixing bowl, and fry up the bread until it is golden brown and the edges are done as well.  Shake confectioner’s sugar over toast and serve with fresh maple syrup.

Makes 6 to 8 pieces, and if you’re like me, you’ll eat the whole thing.
